Hello, if you like LEGO and chess, you'll end up in the right place.
I have been designing this chess set a bit every month when I had the time and there's the result. I like to play chess and play with LEGO, so I thought, why don't I try to make a LEGO chess set., well it appears LEGO had already done some with a classic and a Harry Potter themed chess set. But as a challenge, I asked myself how can I make it more appealing and complex, after all, it's just a flat board to put some pieces on top and do the moves.
Well, I thought, I can try to make it a transportable chess set and apply the FIDE's regulatory rules about the size of the king and the proportional size of the pieces.
So, you'll find 40x40 mm or 1.5 in.² tiles and a 75 mm or 3 inches king. The full chessboard all comes together with a pin/hole system and the pieces all fit inside the folded chessboard, which is secured by a locking mechanism.
Opened, the chessboard is 33,6 x 33,6 x 2.08 cm or 13 x 13 x 0.8 inches and in the transport configuration, it is 33,6 x 16,8 x 4.16 cm or 13 x 6.5 x 1.6 inches (width x length x height).
Hope you like it and if you can, share it for more support!
