About the model:
This model comes with a vintage record player and a ballerina, both themselves stunning display models, but put them together and that is where the magic happens! By turning the handle on the right side, you can both, make the ballerina spin and the needle rotate over to the record player!
The ballerina itself is easy to switch, so when you're feeling particularly creative one night you can just build your own dancer! Or if you don't just want to switch the dancer, the vinyl record comes off as easy!
This model would be the perfect match for the new Lego Sound Brick, bringing it even more to life!

About the technic:
The spinning turntable is made by your standard horizontal rotational motion to vertical rotational motion transmission using 2 gear plates. The tone arm stops turning when it hits the stopper, this is due to it not being connected with an axle, but rather a friction pin, so when the top part of the model can't move anymore the friction pin itself can still turn, allowing the needle arm to stop.
Inspiration:
I wanted to build a spinning ballerina for a long time now, so recently I did! The ballerina itself came together really fast; what you see is actually pretty much my first version of her; the case on the other hand was a different story. I first tried a regular box, which looked quite boring, so after some thinking, I had a Geistesblitz and decided to put her on top of a spinning vinyl record player. Designing the vinyl record was by far the most challenging part of the process; getting it circular and stable was a small challenge, but after some time I figured that out. The next big Idea was adding a rotating tone arm, which took way less time than expected.
A few hours later, here we are!!
This model would be a great set to every addition, because it combines a cool kinetic function with a stunning vintage display set.
