I have always found the LEGO System to be a fantastic tool for play and education. With this in mind, I had set my self the goal of constructing a completely functional and realistic LEGO microscope.
This set combines multiple minifigure magnifying glasses to provide an approximate 30-40x zoom. The additional images show what it looks like through the lens. This example allows for the clear reading of the near invisible text present on every LEGO brick (this is not the LEGO logo as seen on studs).
The microscope has both fine and coarse adjustment knobs and uses a LEGO LED light as a light source. I am currently working on a version which will use a light brick instead.
This would be a fantastic set, it looks great and will educate about optics and the microscopic world.
