About The Allied Fleet
Introducing The Allied Fleet, an alliance of the Lion Knights and Black Falcons extended to the seas! As the kingdom leaders, the Lion Knights make tremendous effort to assure the safety and prosperity of the realm. To guarantee this prosperity they regularly call upon their new allies, the Black Falcons, to help them secure their trade ships as they cross the treacherous seas! The main vessel in this build is the Lion Knights cargo ship full of food and drink. An archer sits at the bow, while another soldier steers from the stern. The Lion Knights cargo vessel is only lightly protected. The second vessel is a Black Falcons escort, designed to protect cargo vessels and engage in combat on the seas. It is smaller, faster and more agile than the cargo ship. At the bow is a soldier armed with two crossbows mounted to the ship and other miscellaneous weapons. A second soldier sits at the stern to help pilot the ship and give orders. The two ships total 651 parts and where designed to be similar in size to the LEGO Sea Serpent set 6057.
Why I built it?
I built this set because I am a huge castle fan and one of my favorite sets is 6057, the LEGO Sea Serpent. I got the set second hand from my grandmother when I was around nine or ten and have cherished it ever since. Because the Lion Knights and Black Falcons have made a recent comeback I thought it would be cool to build them some ships. Initially, I only wanted to build one large vessel, but later decided to break it down into two smaller ones that would scale well next to the LEGO Sea Serpent. I thought it would be cool to make the Lion Knights and Black Falcons allies helping each other since it was mentioned in the 90th Anniversary castle that their rivalry was over.
Why I believe this would make a great LEGO set?
- We haven't had any new medieval ship sets in a while
- It would make a great addition to current castle sets
- It's a smaller set that people could afford and easily acquire more to build larger fleets
- Expands the lore and alliance of two great castle kingdoms!
- Simple and easy to build for all ages!
