The CN Tower was built mainly for TV broadcasting and an observation tower, and is 553.33 meters (1,815.4 feet) high.  It also has a restaurant that rotates slowly, so you can get a look at a 360 view of Toronto from way up.  Construction began on February 6, 1973 and ended April 2, 1975.  It's the largest freestanding building in the Western Hemisphere.  Now the CN Tower is mainly a tourist attraction having over two million international visitors every year.
