I figured a bow tie science guy would be his creator. He controls it with the wheel, sextant, and a lever that is out of view in this shot. The inner gears are just for show. I might go back and try to fit into a fully connected system.
If you seen my train you might have spotted the same wheel rig I put on one of the mechs legs. These guy have to build from whatever scrap they can find. The wheels do turn and are attached to another gear on the leg.
Yes, the back could be better. I didn't want to over do it with gears, but my piece selection given the color scheme is a bit limited.
