About the New York City Subway
Built in 1904, the NYC Subway is one of the oldest in the world. Last year, it carried almost 1.8 billion passengers, making it one of the ten busiest subway systems in the world. It is one of the most recognizable parts of one of the most well known cities in the world, making it a perfect subject for a Lego set.

Features
  • Detailed replica of West 4th St station and two R179 cars with interiors
  • The station is made up of six 16-stud-long sections that connect like modular buildings, so the station can easily be extended to fit more than two cars or shortened to fit one
  • The custom-built track has three rails, two for guiding the train and one for power
  • The exterior of the train uses metallic silver, which is a better match to the color and luster of the source material than light bluish gray
  • 7 minifigures: Driver, Mom, Dad, Son, Daughter, Businessman, Businesswoman
  • Each car has 6 seats and studs for 15 minifigures to stand, giving the two cars a combined capacity of 42 minifigures
  • The platform has plenty of studs for minifigures to wait for their train

Specs
  • 2686 pieces
  • 4.7 x 30.6 x 4.5 inches, 12.0 x 77.6 x 11.5 cm, 15 x 96 x 14.4 studs
  • Each car is 7 x 45.5 studs, and fits on 6 stud wide track
