The Cottage of Autumn-Forest

It's autumn! The leaves are turning colorful, the animals are looking for food and getting ready for winter, the little family is winterizing their vacation cabin, and a mysterious man is roaming the forest. So there's a lot going on!

This is my third Lego-Ideas project and also this time there are some technical features (Therefore, watch the video). These include:

1.The rotating turbine to supply the family in the hut with electricity.

2.The moving figure that digs in the cave below

3.The fold-out ladder inside the hut to reach the beds

This time I decided to include only manual functions, so there are no electrical components. Still, there are about 2000 pieces built into this model. In addition, there are 4 minifigures (child, mother, father and the mysterious man) and some animals, including a brick-built deer and a hedgehog.

The core of my design is the cottage, which is currently being renovated by the family and will serve as a vacation cabin. This is fully furnished, including a stove, a toilet and beds. But, there is so much more to discover. Who will find the treasure first?

I built this model because I love it when the leaves of the trees turn colorful in autumn. I therefore wanted to build an autumnal model for some time and so now was exactly the right time.

I also wanted to try out new designs. So, I decided to use golden leaf-elements for one of the trees and a rock building technique that is slightly different from the "classic" one. I also tested numerous combinations of plates in different shades of blue to represent the different water depths as realistic as possible.

I think this idea will appeal to Lego fans because of the many details, stories, building techniques, as well as the variety of colors. The whole scenery would also fit well on the edge of a city or similar layout.
