Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Introducing Close Encounters of the Third Kind.  Including Roy Neary, Claude Lacombe and Alien minifigures.  Based on one of the greatest movies ever made!

Strange things have been spotted in the skies above and Roy Neary has had a close encounter.  Claude Lacombe is leading the investigation into these strange events and both Roy and Claude come together to welcome these visitors from another world.

Having a passion for Lego and Sci-Fi and with Close Encounters of the Third Kind being one of my favourite movies of all time, I decided to put these passions together to design and create my idea.

The set comes with Roy's Indiana Water and Power Company truck as well as one of the smaller Spacecraft Roy chases during the movie.  The minifigures are displayed on a stand based on the musical dashboard used during the movie to make contact with the Aliens.

I thoroughly enjoyed making this set as it is very colourful and includes lots of interesting building techniques and it looks great displayed on my shelf.

I believe this would make a great set as it captures the essence of the movie perfectly in LEGO!
