Lego has made a lot of products that are action-filled such as Star Wars and City even. I'm trying this product as a more Architectural type product that can be displayed on the desktop and in addition be played. In the middle of each different-colored square, you can see the 2 by 2 square of knobs in the middle. These are to help the pieces stay in one spot during play. Do keep in mind that there are many different variations of chess figurines and these figures were built using my chess set which may be different than yours. Since the set has 496 pieces, it will probably cost anywhere from $40 USD to $50 USD. Together we can make Chess immortalized by Lego!
