Wintersweet (Chimonanthus praecox) is a flower native to China. It's Chinese name, Lamei means "wax plum". The name came from the fact that the tepals of the flower shows a beautiful semi-transparent yellow color, which is quite similar to beeswax. Its flower produces in winter on bare stems. The cute yellow flowers could add a vivid decoration to the plain winter scene.
In this model, I made two branches of wintersweets. Some have flowered, while others remain buds. I used some elements in transparent yellow to mimic its color in nature. The model contains about 170 pieces.
