Senusret III was an Egyptian Pharaoh who ruled from 1878 BC to 1839 BC. During this time, he pushed his kingdom's expansion into Nubia, where he erected massive river forts: one of which is Fortress Buhen.

Ancient Egypt is one of many old civilizations that I find fascinating. I recently started watching a bunch of the shows on Disney+/National Geographic about Egypt. One of them is Draining the Oceans, which is where I learned about Fortress Buhen. Out of all the Fort's that have been uncovered, this one really hit home, I just thought it was so cool.

When I was in sixth grade, we had started learning about Egypt and that's about the time the 5988 Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins, and I happened to get the pyramid for my birthday! I have always loved that set, and was hoping to bring back a little piece of ancient history by creating this set.

LEGO themes have come and gone, but some that have never really been touched are these ancient civilizations. There are sets that revolve around them (like the adventure sets) but nothing really substantiating when it comes to the actual time period, which is why I created this.

The set is 2,700 pieces. It includes:
  • Fortress Buhen, which features:
  • The Barracks
  • The Temple
  • The Market
  • The Dock
  • Egyptian Longboat
  • Ten minifigures
  • Two statues: Anubis and Ra
  • Three bowmen
  • Four swordsman
  • One merchant
