The Real Thing
After submitting the Life-size LEGO Radio, I decided it would be awesome to have this model in physical Lego pieces (the project I posted was a digital model along with digital renderings). So I changed the design a little and then bought the pieces needed off of Bricklink. Below are the main things I changed about it and a photo of the new and improved model:
- I substituded many of the pieces with less expensive ones to make it more cost effective, while keeping it the same shape.
- I extended the two studs on the side to make it more accurate to the original piece (also, at the time, Bricklink didn’t carry the 4x4 round, corner tiles in the color black).
- I raised the section where the antenna attached to the rest of the model to make it more accurate (unfortunately I had to remove the 2x2 round, corner tiles because Bricklink didn’t carry those in black either)
