Zootopia

Today is this project’s last day before expiring, and while it didn’t reach the 1,000 supporter milestone needed for the next extension, I plan on resubmitting with some changes, so hopefully it can next time. :)

Today is the 50th anniversary of Disney’s Robin Hood, the title character of which was the main design inspiration for Zootopia’s Nick Wilde. 

Happy Birthday to Ginnifer Goodwin, the voice of Judy Hopps.🐰🎂🎊🎉

Many may not know this, but in the early days of Zootopia's development, the movie was actually a spy flick called "Savage Seas", starring a James Bond-inspired, tiger-striped rabbit spy named Jack Savage.

However, at the time Disney was also developing a movie based on Jack and the Beanstalk called "Gigantic", and while "Gigantic" would later be cancelled, they didn't want two movies with a protagonist named "Jack".

So as the movie developed, "Jack" became "Nick", "Savage" became "Wilde", the rabbit became a fox, and the spy flick became the buddy (bunny?) cop movie we know today, and the rest is history.

While Jack never made it out of the concept art phase, he remains popular among the Zootopia fan community, so I designed a minifigure of him just for fun.

In the second expansion of this project, I’ve added the Cliffside Asylum guardhouse, where Judy tricks the wolf guards into howling so she and Nick can sneak past them and enter the asylum.

Today marks the 7th anniversary of the release of Zootopia, and now there’s finally a sequel coming!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday.

During the first run of this project, I expanded it to include Nick's Pawpsicle Stand, and while I ran out of space to include it in the resubmission, I now consider it an official part of the project.
