Since the ball is plastic… it can all be plastic!
This is an accurate scale model of a ping pong table and it's playable too. The rackets are designed to fit your hand so you can play with ease. Specifical design elements were used to make it as close as possible to a full-size table, though it may not be ITTF approved. Why the studs on the paddle surface, you might ask? Let's just assume that those are short pips.
I built this model because I really enjoy this fast-paced sport. I often train in table tennis for hours. The speed, spin, and playing styles of professional table tennis really impress me. In stressful times, I relax by playing ping pong with my family. Ever since I was young, I've been fascinated by playable, functional LEGO sets so I believe that LEGO ping pong is a necessity. I think that this sport is the perfect size to be recreated with LEGO. Furthermore, my house will not fit a ping pong table… unless if it's LEGO!
This build includes 2 table tennis player minifigures. They could be the GOAT Ma Long, recently retired legend Timo Bol, or maybe you: a rising star in the future of Lego table tennis.
I think this will make a superb LEGO set. It's playable, the perfect size, and very iconic. The sport itself has huge popularity– particularly in China. Having a mini LEGO ping pong set around the house would be perfect for entertaining guests and encouraging friendly conversation.
Now, all you need is for this to become a real set... and a ping pong ball.
