Speed Champions Mercedes F1 Team and Yas Marina Straight

This set includes:

Start/Finish canopy from the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi
2 Mercedes AMG W06 cars from 2015
4 minifigures, Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, Toto Wolff and Niki Lauda

I designed the canopy using technic beams and pins, then used the half-pin, half stud elements to attach studed plates. For added rigidity and smoothness, a lot of the plates then have tiles attached to those. The light cluster hanging from the top of canopy is attached using bricks, and consists of technic bricks and half beams, plus trans-red studs to simulate the starting lights. The black tiles on the front would feature stickers in the final design, with Etihad Airways details and flowing checkered flags. The barriers either side of the cars are made of 1x2 textured bricks to simulate the shape of the Armco barriers.

The two cars included are the 2015 Mercedes F1 cars, and when complete would have sponsor stickers, as well as numbers (44 for Lewis Hamilton's car, 6 for Nico Rosberg's) Both models can be seen without wheels, but that is because the wheels I had in mind for the model are not available on LEGO Digital Designer. The wheels are part 6102594, and the tyres part 6102596.

The Lewis Hamilton minifigure comes with his black Mercedes snapback, and his white helmet, both of which would be printed in the final model. The Nico Rosberg figure comes with his blonde hair, as well as his black helmet, which again would be printed. The figure to the left is Toto Wolff, Head of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport, and the figure to the right is 3-time World Champion and Mercedes Chairman Niki Lauda, complete with his trademark red cap.
