Wizard's letter
Welcome to my tower!
I'm the Red Wizard and I want to become your neighbor. Let me give you a quick tour through my tower.
[img#1] The tower has a door that opens together with the hidden stairs. From the entrance you can go either direction, but let's start our tour right.
[img#6] Here we enter a mezzanine in the library (which we will talk about a bit more later).
[img#7] Then we continue to a corridor with a nice carpet. And my favorite plant!
[img#8] Going straight we enter a living room. Above the fireplace you can see a painting of a lion. The chairs are designed in a way that I can sit on them either in a robe or in a pants. That's convenient!
[img#9] Through the stairs, we enter the lower level, with an artifacts room. During my journeys I collected several of them.
[img#10] Then to the left we can go to the treasure room, which contains other trophies from my travels.
[img#6] To the right we go back to the library we saw before. I can get to the top of the shelves via movable ladder. There is also a hidden room behind small shelves, where I keep my post precious scroll. To enter it, all you need to do is to remove one book and then shift a few more books. And of course cast a spell! Then the hidden door opens.
[img#11] Speaking about hidden doors... The entrance to the top level is hidden. In fact, you cannot even see the next level is there. (Aside from the outside, but of course I can cast an illusion spell, and cover the top level with the clouds!). Casting a spell transforms a wall into the stairs. At the same time - the ceiling goes up. This uncovers the top level.
[img#12] The first room you see there is a portal room. It contains an orb, that helps me locate the objects in the other planes of existence, and a book with the incantations to open the portal to the dimension I want to go to. The book is protected by a magical anchor. Better safe than sorry.
[img#13] To the right we have a laboratory. Here I perform some alchemical experiments, brew potions, etc.
[img#14] But at the end of the day we all need to relax. For that I ordered a working organ. While there is nothing magical here, and this room doesn't really need to be in the hidden level, the attic was the only place where I could actually fit the organ.
I hope you enjoyed the trip. I would be happy if you allow me to teleport my tower into your town. If you would like this - you know what to do!
Sincerely,
The Red Wizard
Architect's notes
- The tower consists of 2990 elements. This leaves a space for the wizard (4 + 5 robe/legs replacements) and his cat.
- The size is 43 cm x 43 cm x 52 cm.
- The walls (both front and side) and the rocks can be opened for easier interior access. The roof can be removed as well.
- The whole model was built with the actual bricks.
- The model is stable enough, that after removing one of the side rocks, can be safely moved in hands.
- All mechanisms were tested and are fully functional.
- The entrance stairs & door can be open using a wheel in the balcony.
- The hidden stairs & ceiling can be open using the top of the tower as a valve.
- The rooms are mostly interchangeable. You can freely swap the rooms from the back of the tower (img#3). For the rooms on the sides (img#2, img#3), changes are also possible but in some cases small modifications are needed (e.g. mirroring, to align with the wall). The only actual constraints are:
- the organ room needs to go to the top level
- the library cannot go to the top level. It can go to the middle level, but then it will block one of the entrance (or rather one of the entrance will then become a secret escape route, in case of emergency!) That said - the library put into the middle level "reveals" that there is another level on top of the tower, which is meant to be hidden...
- The room above the main entrance is intentionally kept not accessible. It is meant to hide optional (not a part of this submission) engine (plus battery pack). Another engine can be hidden in the top of the tower.
