Singapore - From Pirates of the Caribbean 3

Welcome to Singapore!

My idea is a giant model of the epic action set-piece from the beginning of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. I love the Pirates movies, and the Singapore sequence is one of my favorite scenes in the entire series. The narrow canals, twisting stairs, and rickety bridges create a dark, spooky atmosphere that's perfect for any adventure.

To capture the city's maze-like nature, the model rearranges into multiple layouts. There's a middle section, then two "wings" which fold inward to create an enclosed canal.

The focus of the set is Sao Feng's bathhouse. It also includes the steam room underneath, a marketplace, a fish merchant's shop, the hidden dock where Elizabeth meets Tai Huang, the temple where Will gets caught trying to steal the charts (before the movie starts), and the fireworks hut which blows up at the end of the battle. These are connected by two bridges and a ramshackle platform.

The set includes 15 mini-figures:
• Captain Barbossa
• Elizabeth Swann
• Will Turner
• Sao Feng
• Mr. Mercer
• Mr. Gibbs
• Marty
• Tia Dalma (along with a cape, hat, and alternate head for her "beggar" disguise)
• Tai Huang
• Steng (the spy with the melting tattoo)
• the steam room guard
• a fish merchant
• Sao Feng's "chartman"
and
• 2 EIC agents

I packed as many functions and hidden surprises as I could into the model:
• Recreate the "weapons pass" when Mr. Gibbs throws swords to Barbossa and Elizabeth through the floor of the bathhouse.
• Raise a lever in the steam room to make the furnace light up.
• Release a trapdoor in the bathhouse to catch the EIC agents off guard.
• Knock out the drainage pipe bars where Mr. Gibbs and Marty enter the steam room.
• Remove the bathhouse floor to access the room underneath. The floor can be locked in place by inserting a barrel near the fish shop.
• Discover a secret ladder in the sewer pipe where Tai Huang meets Elizabeth.
• Collapse the roof of the fireworks hut.
• Throw a figure off the platform to recreate the fighting.

I also added a hidden treasure chest, because who doesn't like hidden treasure?

The set is 2.5 feet wide and has 2,980 pieces. With dramatic architecture, colorful characters, and countless play opportunities, this idea would make an excellent addition to anyone's Lego collection.
