Chambered Nautilus

The chambered nautilus is the biggest type of nautilus, with a shell width of more than 10 inches. It is also classified as living fossil, (along with others, eg the goblin shark and sea lilies) because it has barely evolved since prehistoric times. The nautilus also has more appendages than most of it cephalopod relatives (40- 60), although they are called cirri, not tentacles or arms. In this set I have made a life sized model of the chambered nautilus (scientific name Nautilus pompilius). Its cirri are all fully posable, although there are not the right number of them (it would be impossible to fit that many). I also built in a simple 5 piece stand for it. I think this would make a great set because of its accuracy, although I just built it for fun.
