The saxophone is 32 cm tall (40 cm including the stand), and consists of 685 bricks (including stand).
The model might look fragile, but it is actually very stable.
It's made for display and would make a great pair with the newly released LEGO Fender (36 cm long) and Grand Piano. And my guess is, that almost everyone loves music and a Saxophone is a beautiful instrument!
I made it in the first place because someone I know asked me to design it for a gift, but I think even more people would find it compelling because it's a very classy model with a lot of details and many different bricks used in various ways. Not only that, but it also depicts something which is not only interesting for a specific group of fans (like Star Wars or Formula 1 fans), but everyone knows what it is and what it does.
The model features a wide number of small and very useful parts, like the triangular tile (35787), the bar holder with clip (11090) and brackets and yet still uses bricks like a window with rounded top and the Minifigure signal paddle.
It is a very funny model to build with almost zero repetition due to that the two sides of the saxophone are very different!
