Some details of Il Vittoriano (Rome)

The Altare della Patria ("Altar of the Fatherland"), also known as Il Vittoriano  it’s a monument  located in Rome built in honor of Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of Italy.

When in 1921 it held the remains of the Unknown Soldier of World War I ,it took on a new symbolic value becoming the symbol of the united Italy.

Plus an huge symbolic value it also has an high artistic value for its fantastic finishes and details.
