This desktop toy shows a straight rod glides through a crooked shape when you spin the handle. It's a demonstration of how an offset rotating diagonal line creates the geometric shape of a hyperboloid which has a curved shape. The hyperboloid can also be generated by a rotating hyperbola. A fun toy for people interested in science and gadgets.
