The Brook in the Woods

This is a little slice of the woods!

The woods have always been a very special place to me, especially with a brook in them. There is just something about the shade of the trees, the cool, soothing sound of the trickle of water, the escape from the hustle and bustle of life, and the joy of always finding some new nook or spot to enjoy. I wanted to capture that with this model. But I didn't want some massive, expensive, hard to display model, I wanted to make a simple, charming diorama anyone could enjoy. And here it is!

On the left corner we have a humongous tree spreading its majestic foliage over everything. And, if you look closely, you will a little bird has made its home in a cavity in the trunk!

Then we have the brook. I almost went with smooth tiles for the water, but felt that didn't capture the alive feel of a brook well enough. So after much time and tinkering, I came up with the current method which I am very happy with!

Then we have a log crossing the brook, perfect for a makeshift bridge. Just don't fall in!

We also have various plant life, (including a sapling!) and a little squirrel on a stump! And, as a final little easter egg I put in a little den with a bunny in it at the back!

I had such a blast making this, and would appreciate any comments so much! I would be honored to have your support, and hope that one day this could be a set, and a little reminder of the peaceful woods in everyone's home.
