Sea Train - Spirited Away

Spirited Away is one of the most beloved and recognized animation of all time, and the train scene, in my opinion, is the most iconic scene of the movie. That's the reason why I have been inspired on recreating the scene in LEGO form.

Current VS previous upload
Actually, I have alrady published the same set once, as my first LEGO Ideas project, but I feel the previous model was rough and sort of unfinished due to the lack of experience I had at that time with the software. The previous model has been the base for my new presentation; I refined it with the following additions and changes:
  • The water surface and the waves,
  • reshape of the front/rear roof,
  • studs on the platform and on the train floor
  • minifigures changes
  • water plate for the island
  • the nameplate with a new graphic
Main features
The train with the submerged tracks is recreated including both carriages, which are kept together by two magnets. In order to guarantee the best playability, both carriages are easily accessible removing the roof and one of the sides. In addition, it is possible to lift just a small part of the roof to look from above the central seats (where Chihiro and No-Face sit during the movie)

Set details & minifigures
As mentioned above, I included a black nameplate, listing the dimensions of the train:
Width: 7.7 cm
Length: 81.0 cm
Height: 11.8 cm

The minifigures are:
  • Chihiro (Sen)
  • No-Face
  • Shadow-like train conductor
  • Shadow-like male passenger
  • Shadow-like female passenger
I hope this new version of the train gets love from the community and gets eventually to 10k target
