Venice is one of my favourite places in the world so this was my love letter to the city. There is always so much hustle and bustle happening there I thought it would make a great playable LEGO set. From the street traders selling the famous Venetian masks to the portrait artists to the magical experience of being serenaded by a Gondalier as you pass under the renowned Rialto Bridge this city is full of wonder and would make a wonderful addition to the LEGO world.
To build this model I referenced photographs I took during a trip to Venice 5 years ago and tried to stay true to the shape and decor of the architecture there. One of the unique parts of visiting Venice is exploring the little laneways where washing hangs between buildings as residents go about their daily lives side by side with the thousands of tourists exploring their home.
