GT Speedster

I give you my GT Speedster racing car concept!

It is inspired by many high performance sports cars. It has an open top design to give a warm summer time feel, low suspension on all four wheels, steering wheel which turns the front wheels, inspired by a formula one style steering wheel, model flat six cylinder engine with moving pistons in the rear tale of the car. The engine can be viewed by lifting the back boot. It has a model rear wheel drive transmission system, that contains a rear differential gearbox, this connects to a drive shaft, allowing it to turn the pistons in the engine when rear wheels are turned.
The car is white with black stripes on bonnet accompanied by a splash of orange and blue. There are red Horizontal bendy Technic beam strips on the back, to represent the rear car red Led lights.

The Shape is meant to look fast and dramatic through it's sharp, aerodynamic structure. I have heavily focused on creating aerodynamic features on the car, which include air intakes on the sides, front and back, grooves in the doors and a muscular tear drop shaped back. The back has an orange exhaust pipe and diffuser, to enhance the style and look of it.
The interior has an orange, black and white colour scheme, model central control screen, dashboard, built in roll cage behind the seats, this is built into the Chassis design. The front window frame is reinforced and fixed with angular Lego Technic pieces below it each side, which you can see on the inside of the car, set before the door hinges, to stop it moving around.

The car is 500 mm long, 250 mm wide 129 mm high approx.

I built this car because I wanted to achieve a concept that incorporated some of my favourite sports cars all in one, giving me a very satisfied build. I believe it would make a great Lego Technic set because it incorporates a diverse set of race car features.
