Palazzo Vecchio is one of the most stunning and iconic buildings throughout all of Italy, a country already known for its historic architecture. Its name means the "Old Palace" and is the town hall of Florence in Tuscany. This world-renowned city is known as the Birthplace of the Renaissance and has played host to a vast many of the most important artists of the time, including Michelangelo whose Statue of David had historically sat at the entrance to the Palazzo Vecchio since its completion, alongside Hercules and Cacus.
I used to live in the historic heart of Florence, having studied and learned in the immediate shadow of this gorgeous work of architecture, passing by it every day. In a city filled with countless spectacular buildings, this one will always hold a special place in my heart. I have since gone on to complete my studies in architecture. From the Colosseum to the Venice skyline to the Leaning Tower of Pisa, there have been several Lego sets that have previously been based on places in Italy, but it would forever be a shame if perhaps its most beautiful city of Florence never got the same opportunity. The Palazzo Vecchio is one of it's buildings I would love to see depicted most in Lego form. Please support this project if you feel the same way.
