Stargate SG-1

UPDATE
Based on some good feedback I've updated the design. New pictures show the gate with different locations on each side - the Gate Room and an Off-World site. I think this would be more fun to play with, especially with Jaffa enemies to battle!

I have also now included a MALP and the Control Room / Briefing Room. The MALP is not 100% show accurate but is a compromise to keep at mini-figure scale.

The Control Room is detachable from the Gate Room, they connect with round Technic 'pegs'. In addition, the Briefing Room can be taken off the top of the Control Room as a separate piece. I've taken the opportunity to make the blast doors moveable, so you can open and close them.

Thanks to everyone for the support so far!

ORIGINAL
Stargate SG-1 was a phenomenal show from my childhood/teens. This is my take on the Gate Room, which housed the titular Stargate. Hidden under the Cheyenne Mountain Complex, the
Stargate created a wormhole to distance planets. SG-1 was the lead team who explored these other worlds.

The build encompasses the main room, with detachable Stargate. The gate can be taken out and fitted to another base plate to represent an Off-World location. For this setup there is a DHD, or 'Dial Home Device' included, which allowed the team to operate the Off-World gates.

I have also included two centre pieces for the gate to represent an activated gate and a gate with the iris closed. In the show the iris was used to stop the baddies coming through to Earth!

The SG-1 team changed over the years, but I have included the core 5 who were there for much of the first 8 seasons (of 10) - Jack, Sam, Daniel, Teal'c and General Hammond.

I had to tackle this build as the show was one of my favourites growing up. I loved the premise and the team dynamics. It was a very funny and entertaining show.

I think this would be a great Lego Ideas set. There is still an enormous fanbase for the show, which led to two spin off series. I hope another series is in the works!
