It may seem like an elegant and refined pair of modern design objects, maybe for some it is like that, but the real magic is the magnetic levitation of this beautiful piece of furniture.
This Lego set (592 bricks), made up of these two prisms with bright and brilliant colours, is the absolute novelty, it is the Lego set that was still missing!
With the help of science and after some information on magnetism extrapolated from the internet, I want to shed light on what could be a new way of furnishing the home with modern and elegant objects, but without giving up our favorite bricks!
The work that magnets do in the specific case of this Lego set, consists of creating a magnetic field, that is, simultaneously creating a force of repulsion and attraction that manages to keep the prism suspended in the air. The prism is also equipped at the base with a group of magnets which serve to push the object upwards.
The second image shows the positioning of the magnets, the third image explains the orientation of the magnetic charges of each group of magnets.
I created this idea with the pieces that the design software made available to me, so the power of each magnet is not specified, but the operating principle is this:
the group of magnets with positive and negative charges, placed one in front of the on the other hand, they create the force of attraction.
The remaining two sets of magnets with the same magnetic charge create the repulsion. This causes a lack of gravity, and the negative magnetic charge of the magnets under the base of the prism helps the object to float and spin in the air.
I think this could be a particularly interesting Lego set for a wide range of people. For those who like particularity, design, innovation, elegance and of course Lego bricks!
