The intelligentsia and literati of any LEGO city need a library to stimulate their intellectual curiosities.
I wanted to submit a project that emphasised intellectual pursuits. There are some good museum projects submitted, but I had not found a library.
The design was inspired by the early 20th century buildings I recall as a student on my university's campus. The color and design similarities to the Fire Brigade were unintentional.
Made a couple of small changes to the facade. There is now a sign above the door identifying the building as a library and the rats in the cornice have become lions.
