This project depicts the Pulitzer Arts Foundation building, located in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. From its opening in 2001, this tranquil art museum designed by the Pritzker Prize winning architect Tadao Ando has captured the attention of architecture enthusiasts around the world. Ando's signature use of cast-in-place concrete planes can be found within and throughout the structure. Massive, elongated surfaces appear to slip past one another as they juggle light, slicing through water and air, in a timeless display of delicate grandeur. Undoubtedly, the most striking spaces are the reflecting pool and the "reflecting garden" on the roof, both contributing to an atmosphere of somber yearning and introspective thought.
And who can forget "Joe", the rolled-steel sculpture by Richard Serra, wrapping around the center of the courtyard.
Loved by its visitors, this building in its short 15 year history has already solidified a following of admirers rarely seen in modern architectural canon.
Please help magnify its legacy by enshrining it in LEGO form with 10,000 supporters--in other words, please support and share!
Thank you
