On a dark desert highway
Cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas
Rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance
I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to stop for the night

"Hotel California" by The Eagles is one of my all time favorite songs. The mysterious lyrics, the epic guitar, everything about it is well done. So I decided to give it a name in one of my favorite mediums - LEGO bricks.

This build features the façade of the said hotel, based on the Album cover mixed with some of my interpretations and creative liberties, such as the clock. I also custom-designed minifigures for the band. They can be displayed on a stand, which has a palm tree on it. There are two 1 x 2 jumper plates where the minifigs stand. The rest is tiles. The palm tree is built using the standard palm segments for the strung. Then I attached a dark tan shrub with a bar and open stud. Then I used 2 x 2 round plates with bars to attach the leaves. I did that twice, with the top ne being offset.

Then she lit up a candle
And she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor
I thought I heard them say

The hotel itself is built on a scale similar to the Architecture sets. The color scheme of nougat, dark red, dark green, and white give it an interesting and mysterious appearance, which is definitely fitting to the song. As mentioned before, the model is a façade, meaning it shows the front exterior. The back, as shown in picture five, is supported with pillars. The build has just over 1000 pieces, and it measures about 24 by 6 inches.

This model will look great as a display piece, as well as providing a new experience for those who love the song. I hope you like the model and I appreciate your support.
