Mount Doom

In this Lego rendition of the climax of the Return of the King, Gollum has taken the ring and is falling to his demise. This fantastic scene from the Lord of the rings trilogy has inspired me to recreate it in the brick form. This set only two colors not including minifigures - black and red. The reason for this, is that it is built completely out of the Darth Maul Bust (set 10018), with a couple of fire pieces added. There are around 1900 to 2000 pieces included. The set also builds upwards and outwards giving a curving effect to the scene. To top it off, Frodo can be positioned to hang off the edge of the platform, adding a whole new element of tension to the scene.
