This LEGO set is a part of the Basingstoke Canal that stretches for about 32 miles (52 km), connecting the town of Basingstoke in Hampshire to the River Wey at Byfleet, Surrey.
The transport was done with boat towed by horses. Due to the high difference there are 29 river locks that has to be operated by the driver of the boat. This is done manually by moving the steering wheel. First you open the lock where the boat is . After the boat entered the system you close this one and slowly you open the other one. When the water level is the same then you move forwards
I built this set because it has history and still exist. I like to walk next to the channel and many interested places can be visit. The canal is a popular spot for leisure activities like boating, kayaking, fishing, walking, and cycling along the towpaths.
The canal passes through beautiful countryside and woodland, making it a scenic route for nature enthusiasts.
This set is a combination of playing historical set and suitable for everybody who loves the quietness of Hampshire country site. A area what I can highly recommend.
