I'm going to be King of the Pirates!
This is my interpretation of the Going Merry from the popular anime "One Piece".
This version of the ship has been scaled down quite a lot, being small compared to the actual show. The Going Merry comes with a selection of 5 figures, all of which are part of the main focus of the anime, being the Straw Hat Pirates. The 5 members of the Straw Hat Pirates included alongside the Going Merry are:
- Monkey D. Luffy (Luffy)
- Roronoa Zoro (Zoro)
- Vinsmoke Sanji (Sanji)
- Tony Tony Chopper (Chopper)
- Nami (Nami)
Majority of the figures also come with accessories, some of which are:
- Zoro's sword.
- Luffy's iconic straw hat.
Moving onto the physical Going Merry ship build, whilst it has been downscaled, the Going Merry still contains an immense amount of detail, ranging from the giant sheep figurehead to the various cannons around the ship. Below is a list of a few of the details & references found on my version of the Going Merry:
- Giant Sheep Figurehead.
- Nami's Tangerine Trees.
- Various animals such as birds & butterflies located on the ship.
- 2 Sails, the Main Sail & Striped, Smaller Sail.
- 2 Small Cannons on both sides of the ship.
- Large Cannon located below the sheep figurehead.
- Various instances of the iconic Straw Hat Jolly Roger, being found on the sail, and two flags.
The Giant Sheep Figurehead is constructed for a minifigure to be able to sit on top of, as a reference to how Luffy's iconic seat on the Going Merry is atop the figurehead, which is confusing as Luffy can't swim, yet sits at the front of the ship.
