Menace Electro-Kinetic Slingshot (M.E.K.S)

The Menace Electro-Kinetic Slingshot is an all-terrain support vehicle. Utilizing Electro-magnetically induced Kinetic energy, ball-shaped relief pods are slingshot out and across magnetic rails, giving them enough velocity to rip free of most planet's gravity. The M.E.K.S. can also be calibrated to a lower output for sending items around the globe, but it's not recommended as even a slight mis-calculation would be the difference between your first meal in weeks and that new garage you've always wanted in your living room.

Meks was nicknamed "The Menace" after she had spent most her years as a failed prototype, constantly causing more issues than progress. If it could go wrong, it did. Whether it was firing the relief packages in random directions, exploding them, giving random error codes, spilling the general's coffee or even falling completely apart on one occasion, the Electro-Kinetic Slingshot was truly without competition, an engineering Menace. When they finally got a working prototype, there was fireworks, dancing, cake and ice-cream for everyone. The next day, they proudly introduced their now functioning MEKS... But they had forgotten one tiny detail... There wasn't a cockpit! Because they only ever needed to test with computer controls, everyone had completely forgotten to make room for a cockpit! Now, the project sits abandoned, as nobody in their right mind would dare risk taking the Menace apart for rebuilding.

Anyway, I just wanted to build a "Railgun kinda thing" because they look cool. I've also always wanted to use Bionicle ball-launchers with Lego as seen in this model. You can raise/lower the slingshot's aim just a little using the gear on the back. The ammo cartridges flip open to load balls, aka relief packages. pushing disguised levers on the back fires the balls. The tracks roll in theory, but no Lego program would let me try. Each track-segment has a set of special hinges that allow the Meks to stand kinda like a spider, I just couldn't show it because of the type of tracks I used. I included small details where I could, completely forgetting about the cab until it was too late. There are railings, but brick studio hates trying ta load 'em, so I removed them for these pictures.

Why would this make a good Lego set ya ask? Because Lego Ball-Launchers and mecha are cool!
