Treasure Planet Portal

"Now see here, Jimbo"

This is the scene from the classic Disney 'Treasure Planet' movie, where Jim Hawkins discover how to open the portal to the famous Treasure Planets stolen treasures. It is a build that has two sides of the portal.

The first side is the desserted place on the Treasure Planet itself, where the troops of John Silver tries to get to the treasure. This side features both the hole in the ground, where Jim places the golden treasure map, to unveil the portal map and it also features a build where you can swap out the tile, to place the green portal map of the entire galaxy.

The other side of the build. is the core of the planet, where the treasure is located. Here you will find "The Loot of a thousand worlds", which was stolen by Captain Flint. The entrance has the laser trap on the floor, which is the reason why John Silver and the gang flees in haste from the treasure they have been seeking their whole lifes.

The Minifigures:
  • Jim Hawkins
  • John Silver
  • B.E.N. (Bio-Electronic Navigator)
  • Morph

This model also comes with four different panels, for you to swap within the frame of the portal. There's a regular part of space, a transparent panel (for when the characters goes through to another side), Montreasure Spaceport (which is glowing in the dark) and the last one is up for interpretation (but is resempled from the movie).

I built this model due to the love of both Disney movies and exploration. This is one of my favorite movies, because of the hunt for treasures. It's a mysterious genre, that fascinates me and the thought of hitting the jackpot one day, can happen to anyone, that believes in it.

This would make a great LEGO set, because it's a beautiful display model (from all angles) and also because it has a lot of play features as well. It's also about time, that we get a LEGO set from this epic adventure. Who doesn't like a great treasure hunt?
