Capitol Studios are 60 this year!

Located at 1750 North Vine Street, Hollywood, Los Angeles, the  Capitol Records Tower was designed by Welton Becket and construction was completed in 1956. The building is not only the offices for Capitol's West Coast operations it also houses recording studios and an echo chamber which make up Capitol Studios.

My model includes the tower and the retangular building at its base. Printed pieces provide the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Hollywood Jazz mural.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame lists eight stars at 1750 North Vine Street for:

John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Star, Roy Orbison, Garth Brooks, Neil Diamond and Buddy Holly.

The Hollywood Jazz mural was designed and painted by artist Richard Wyatt in1990. Recently Capitol Records and Richard Wyatt joined forces to remake the mural in mosaic form.

The mural's official name is “Hollywood Jazz: 1945-1972” and features jazz legends Chet Baker, Gerry Mulligan, Charlie Parker, Tito Puente, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Shelly Manne, Dizzy Gillespie, Billy Holiday, Duke Ellington, and Nat ‘King’ Cole.

Ideally I would like the set to include printed pieces featuring the original design; however, for my submission I have recreated the mural using mini-figures (the best I could do using Digital LEGO so any resemblance to a real person would be a miracle - I am sure that the LEGO art department could do them justice) .

Thanks for looking at my project and please tell your friends.
