This implements the popular game Sudoku in Legos. The blue
square in the middle is the basic Sudoku board. It contains 9 sub-squares, each
with 9 locations for pieces. Sudoku normally uses numbers 1-9, but these are
not necessary, the Lego version uses 9 distinct colors.
The puzzle is initiated by filling in a given number of the spaces with
specific pieces, and is solved by filling in the rest so that each sub-square,
row, and column contains exactly one of each color. The pink squares
surrounding the basic board are “corrals” where the pieces are stored until
they are needed for the basic board. The corrals are color coded so that pieces
of that color can be stored in the corresponding corral.
