LUCAS’ SEA HUT

Hi everyone, my name is Luca, i’m italian and i’ve always been passionate about the lego world. Today i will accompany you to learn the story behind the Lucas' sea hut. We will discover together where my idea came from and many of its details. Are you ready? Let's go!

  • The story behind the Sea Hut
This is the story of Lucas, a Portuguese fisherman of Italian origins.
His parents moved in the late 1980s to start a new life in the Algarve region, located in the southern part of Portugal.
They left Italy before Lucas was born and, from an early age, his father instilled in him the respect for the sea and the passion for fishing. Lucas and his father spent every weekend in this small house by the sea, far from the frenetic daily life of the city in which they lived, free from any thoughts and worries.

Happiness is a simple idea when facing the sea.”

After his father's death, Lucas, now a man, decided to leave his job and make fishing, his greatest passion, a full-time job.
The memory of his father Roberto, known as Bob, still lives strong in Lucas, thanks to the boat built in his memory, that today accompanies him on all his adventures.

“Our memories give back life to those who no longer exist.
Nothing is ever really lost to us as long as we remember it.”

  • The creation process
The construction was created with the use of the Stud.io program and Part Designer for the creation of tiles and other pieces with customized graphics. I’ve always been a graphics enthusiast and a decent designer. I really like this process which also gives a lot of space to the imagination.

  • About the set
The Hut develops on a cliff, hence through the windows and terraces that surround it, it’s possible to admire the beauty of the sea. The interior of the house is very simple but still livable, we find a television to spend a few hours of leisure, a bed to rest and a sink where you can prepare a quick meal or clean your hands after work. Through the window on the roof, at night it’s possible to see a fantastic starry sky. Inside the house a souvenir photo of Lucas as a child, together with his father Bob, on a fantastic day of fishing could not be missing. By exiting from the back door and going down the staircase, you access the small beach where you can fish in peace. We also find a small covered bench where you can clean and cut the freshly caught fish. There are two spots where to hang the catch to dry; on the right side we have a convenient wooden bar and on the left a chain that descends from the upper floor. On the roof we find an antenna (essential for watching television), a windsock (rudimentary wind meter) and a convenient sundial to always know the time. On the upper part of the side facade of the house we find a fishing trophy hanging, an enormous fish of which now only the bone remains. Going down the small ladder in front of the main entrance you enter a small marina where Lucas can moor his small boat, always ready for a new adventure. On the small boat we can see the dedication to his father Bob. All around the Hut we can see a dense vegetation, characteristic of Portugal, which has almost completely covered the house. Finally, there are multiple animals, we can see several crabs, lobsters and seagulls and obviously Boris, Lucas' cat, intrigued by all these animals, especially by seagulls.
