The Dukes of Hazzard

The Dukes of Hazzard is a TV show that ran from 1979-1985 and was also updated as a 2005 movie.  I grew up watching the TV re-runs and it seemed the perfect match for my love of LEGO... crazy characters and fast cars! 

 

This set contains approximately 675 LEGO bricks and includes the eight main characters and four of the main vehicles from the TV show, as well as a display stand for the minfigs.

 

The vehicles were designed to be both reminiscent for fans of the original show while at the same time still being very playable for LEGO fans who may not have the same familiarity with the show.  With that balance in mind, I designed all of my re-imagined vehicles as convertibles with oversized monster truck tires and engines, while still making them easily recognizable as the original vehicles they are based on. To keep them more narrow and to help maintain a lower brick count, each vehicle has tandem seating and can hold two minifigs.

Deputy Cletus and several other characters, as well as Daisy's vehicles, were omitted to keep the set size more manageable.  Sorry Cletus...
