With SEGA's recent Game Awards teaser of a Crazy Taxi revival, now is the perfect time for a brand new Lego set. Introducing Gena, the female driver from the series. Since each driver has their own personal vehicle and stats, this model recreates Gena's unique ride.
For SEGA fans, this set makes for a great display piece. For Lego fans and creative builders, this set slots into any Lego city and many collections of other sets. Whether her passenger is a regular Lego person, or an iconic character from one of many popular sets, Gena is sure to give them a cab trip they'll never forget.
This set contains a few unique printed pieces, including the checker patterned tiles and slopes, taxi tiles, and Gena's pink and red leopard print tank top. The license print plates serve as fun references as well. The front plate is a sort of SEGA vanity plate, while the rear plate references the Naomi arcade hardware the original game released on, SEGA AM3 (the game's original developer), and the Dreamcast logo for the first console the game was ported to.
The Lego medium did introduce some limitations. For instance: there aren't a lot of wide windscreen pieces, so the front passenger seat was sacrificed in order to include the gear shift. Since passengers in the game always sit in the back, and the gear shift is important to many advanced techniques such as the Crazy Drift and Crazy Dash, this felt like a fair compromise.
