Grand Prismatic Springs is the largest hot spring in North America. It is found in Yellowstone National Park. The beautiful rings of color are caused by different bacteria living in the boiling hot water at different levels. The center of the hot spring is, in fact, about 189 degrees Fahrenheit!
When I visited Yellowstone myself, I was struck with the beauty of the park. Grand Prismatic stood out to me as one of the most beautiful attractions the park had to offer. I decided that I would build it out of Lego a few months later. The model is built on top of several large base plates. The center is raised to show how the water flows out of the hot spring. The model is surrounded by a white border, allowing it to be displayed. It includes 762 bricks.
