Introducing The Big 0-6-0 Steamer!

In the year 1976, about forty-five years ago, the LEGO Group released an "advanced" model for its Hobby Set theme, which was a replication of a steam locomotive built by the famous Thatcher Perkins. Perhaps the most notable feature this set has is the scale this model was designed. To date, it is the largest (though not the longest) official LEGO train build.

However, it has been 45 years since a large-scale LEGO train set was released. The LEGO community would probably rejoice if the LEGO Group released such a train set! And so, I believe the time has come for the large-scale LEGO train set to make its triumphant return! What do you say?

How it came together...

During my recent 90-day hiatus (as of the typing of this description), I wanted to improve some of my MOCs sitting in my collection, one of them being The Big Steamer. At first, I wanted to fix a few things here and there, but in the end, I rebuilt the entire thing from scratch. It took me four days to build this large project, from January 10th to January 13th, to be precise. I am very satisfied with the result of my work, and I hope you like it just as much!

Project description:

Estimating by the size and amount of pieces that have gone into this model, The Big 0-6-0 Steamer is about 1,100 pieces. It boasts features such as securely-mounted, fully-enclosed cylinders for the pistons, working coupling-rods, a swinging bell, and a detailed cab interior, which can be easily accessed by lifting the roof of the cab.

Finally! A conclusion!

Thank you all so much for viewing this little project. If you have read the entire description up to this point, kudos to you. Please feel free to express your opinion(s) about this project in the description section above. Have a great day, and take care!
