Pele Tribute (Bicycle Kick)

This build is a tribute to Pele’s life and legacy. In December of 2022, Pele passed away at the age of 82. May he RIP.

This Lego model depicts the still image of Brazilian Football legend, Pele attempting his infamous bicycle kick against Belgium in 1965. A bicycle kick, also known as an “overhead kick” is when a player leaps into the air and kicks the ball over their head. The photograph that inspired this build is known as one of the most iconic images in sports history. Along with his aerial acrobatics on display, Pele scored 77 goals in 92 international matches for Brazil. While representing his country, Pele won 3 World Cups, cementing himself as an all time great.

The clear bar pieces show the motion of the ball and kick while leveraging the figure above the display.

Pele is outfitted in his Brazilian uniform featuring a yellow jersey with a green collar, light blue shorts, white socks, and black boots.

The iconic number 10 that Pele wore is shown on his back.

The display stand features a grass pitch surface bordered by black tiles.

A yellow bicycle represents the symbolism behind the bicycle kick.

A mini build features a copy of Pele’s iconic signature on a 4x4 plate.

I believe this would make a great Lego set because Pele is a beloved athlete among many around the world. Pele battled cancer throughout his later years. I hope that if this build becomes a Lego set, a portion of the proceeds go towards cancer research.

The build is made up of 325 Lego bricks.
