Help your fellow builder by leaving your feedback based on these three criteria:
- Originality: How original is this - never seen before?
- Building Techniques: How much skill do you think the creator of this MOC has, in terms of building technique?
- Details: Express how much you like the details of the build.
Your feedback is only shown to the creator as well as yourself. It is not available for other users to see. The creator won't see your user name.
This Idea is a play and display build based on a screenshot of the 1929 movie, The Kiss. The idea itself is nothing to do with the movie, however I did base the look on an old photograph from the movie set.
As you may have guessed from my other Ideas, I love the Art Deco movement of the early 20th century. It’s influential reach swept through art, architecture, interior design, fashion and as demonstrated with this build- moviemaking.
One of the main reasons for doing a movie set type build is that we haven’t had one in a while and all the moviemaking equipment could easily be mixed with other sets to enable play that incorporates what Lego fans already own with ease.
I have seen other creators on Ideas do movie set builds and I love and respect their takes. (No pun intended!) I have tried to put my spin on things in the hope that one of us will be successful!
I believe taking the Art Deco theme into this build adds a particularly good aesthetic feel to the display element of the build.
All the movie equipment is removable and easy to reconnect so this can be enjoyed as the “making of” or the this classic 1929 black and white film.
I believe this would appeal to:
- Movie fans
- Fans of the Art Deco movement
- Budding filmmakers
- Fans of old movies like this 1929 classic
- Anyone wanting to experience the thrills of the birth of cinema
- Anyone wanting an attractive display piece
- (MOCers who want lots of chrome gold tiles 😂)
