High in the mountains, surrounded by rugged landscapes, stands the Royal Goldmine, the lifeblood of the kingdom’s wealth. The gold mined here is crucial, as the kingdom's upkeep demands endless resources. Fortresses, armies, and trade routes all require funding, making the goldmine an invaluable asset.

The hardworking miners begin their day in their modest cabin, preparing for the labor ahead. Deep within the mine, they extract precious gold veins, sift through ore, and ensure that every nugget is collected. As the day ends, they return to their cabin to rest, knowing their efforts keep the kingdom strong.

At the entrance to the mine, a watchtower stands tall, where royal knights keep a vigilant eye on the surroundings. Their duty is to safeguard the mine, ensuring the gold is transported securely to the royal treasury. With sharp swords and unwavering determination, they protect this vital resource from any threats.

But not everyone at the goldmine is there to work. A cunning spy lurks in the shadows, observing the knights and looking for an opportunity to claim the gold for themselves. Will they succeed in their daring scheme, or will the knights stop them before it’s too late?

Set features & details

The core idea of this LEGO set was to include both an underground and a surface-level section. The set is built from modular parts, allowing you to detach and reattach different sections as you wish, adding more playability and customization options.

The goldmine itself consists of three main sections, all connected at the bottom by tracks, which allow a mining cart to move between them. The cart can be used to transport rocks and gold to the entrance, where a crane is waiting to lift them to the surface. The mine walls are partially open to make the play experience more accessible. A ladder descends from the entrance down into the depths of the mine.

Above ground, the set features a three-story mountain cabin. The ground floor includes a small kitchen with essential supplies, while the middle floor has bunk beds and a secret hatch leading to the attic, where treasures can be hidden. The balcony offers a place to relax with a card game table and an ale barrel for entertainment.

Next to the mine entrance stands a watchtower and a chain-powered crane. The crane’s axle can be turned, lifting a basket from the mine to the surface. The crane is mounted on a rotating base, allowing you to position it as needed and drop the basket wherever you like.

The set includes 2,769 pieces, 9 minifigures, and 2 horses.
