Welcome to my fifth Lego Project:

Lego Space: Rosetta, Philae and 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko

A little background:

Rosetta is a robotic space probe built and launched by the European Space Agency (esa).
It was launched on 2 March 2004 and reached the comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko on 6 August 2014.
(Yes...10 years later)

The Philae lander successfully made the first controlled touchdown on a comet on 12 November 2014.

It is so far away (about 190,000,000 km) ... it last about 30 mintues to send a command to the probe and also 30 minutes to get a feedback.

For me it is a awesome technical perfomance...

And with this Model everybody can have a little "history" of this first space mission of a controlled landing.

The Probe is hold by 4 pillars because I know that the solar pannels would not be 100% stable.
(not shown on the first pictures. I will render it later. Clear stuff lasts very long)

On the ground: the lander and a smaller version of the comet.

On the plate there will be some technical information about it.
something like:

Mission type: Comet orbiter/lander
Operator: European Space Agency
COSPAR ID 2004-006A
SATCAT No. 28169
Mission duration: (still counting)
Manufacturer: Astrium
Launch mass: Orbiter: 2,900 kg (6,400 lb)
              Lander: 100 kg (220 lb)

and so on...

Much work (to try) to realize it with Lego parts and still have all details on it.
Hope you like it.

Please support this "awesome" project....

Thanks
