Vostok 1:- The First Human in Space

Vostok 1 was the first ever manned space flight, which put cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin into low earth orbit on April 12th 1961. The flight lasted only 108 minutes, launching from Baikonur cosmodrome in the former USSR and landing in the Saratov Oblast. The vessel consisted of a spherical descent module and a conical instrument module and would be lifted into orbit on top of a Soviet R-7 ICBM, one of the most powerful rockets at the time. On landing, the cosmonaut would eject from the capsule and parachute to the ground.

This set consists of  320 bricks and contains the Vostok 1 spacecraft, which can be broken up into its individual segments, a display stand for posing the spacecraft, and a minifigure of cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space. He can be displayed outside the spacecraft or placed inside the descent module. Ideally, this set would cost around £30 ($40 US). I believe this set would serve as a great first set involving a Russian spacecraft, as it would be a estimony to the conributions of Russia to the develoupment of space exploration, even during times where great hostility towards foreign powers drove ambitions.
