In a small old shed, just beyond the fields,
Where time stands still and passion wields.
There works an craftsman, incredibly skilled.
He crafts with precision, every detail instilled.
Well known everywhere, and by others admired
He bears all the patience and kindness required.
Since time immemorial he builds the dream
Of mighty machines that are moving by steam.
The size was a trait that he never sought,
"In small things lies greatness" his wisdom tought.
Each train was more brilliant than the one before,
Ready for departure, small tracks to explore.
And when the day comes he himself must depart,
The Trainmaker's legacy stays in our hearts.
The idea for this little build came relatively spontaneous when I saw the "Build your gift of purchase set of your dreams"-challenge. I wanted to build a small cozy shed, timeless and full of detail. The idea of a toy/model train maker came to mind as I really like Lego trains and was inspired by the nano scale train builds often found in the City Advent Calendars; they were always my favourite as a child.
After not advancing to the Fan Vote phase, I decided to resubmit the build as a product idea.
I think this model, containing only 249 pieces, would make a great addition to the range of interesting Lego Ideas sets and could deliver some diversity, as Ideas mostly features large sets. It appeals to all fans of detailed builds, nanoscale, and trains.
